When magic started to go dormant and all magical creature started to slumber under the dirt, everything that was magic started to disappear. Then even the stars became like knowledge. Plant life slowly turns into dormant plants. There was little to know about what happened to the magic of the world; However, Azger the strongest wizard that ever roams knew that all magic was dying. So in struggle attempt to save the magic he gathers all the magic that was left and with an ancient piece of gold coin he cast the spell that took his life and in turn saving what was left. His apprentice took the coin and kept it Sacred For generations they passed down the coin and, the coin was kept secret.
While for centuries all magic and all creatures were hunted down and killed. These hunters were called the Scarlet Arrow. The scarlet arrow was a secretive group of hunters that would kill or destroy all culture of magical creatures. they wiped them out altogether. They heard of the coin which they called the Azure’s Coin. For they wanted magic and all forms of it dead and to never return.
This is where our story starts. There was a boy named Jay Geal who lives in a farm in southern Ohio and he was fifteen at the time was brought to his grandpa deathbed. His grandpa named was Buck Geal. Buck and his family sat beside him as he took his last breath.
“I want Jay… to…. be here,” Jay was there as his grandfather cough and hacked while he slowly died. His grandpa has cancer and it was terminal. Jay walked up to his grandpa’s bed and his grandpa reached out and grabbed his shirt.
“jay… where the wind speaks, the nights sing, the day crows,” Buck said.
“Jay I left everything to you… bucked leaned into jay hear,
“Son, you must bring back what was lost with this coin,” Buck said as he handed the coin to his grandson. Then his rolled over and he took his last breath and died.
Jay started crying. His tear went down his grandpa’s chest. they all mourn Buck but it hurt jay the worse. Jay loves his grandpa who was a world war II vet in the army. He went through several campaigns and survived each one. He died a hero and lived as one.
Weeks passed and jay slowly felt himself dying inside. It was so much he could ever take. His life he never had to deal with such pain. Little did he know what his grandpa had waiting for him. Buck was cleaver.
It had been months since his death the family didn’t want to talk about his will until they thought he was ready. Jay w2as his only grandson. Jay and his family had to go to the doctor
“It says here in bucks last will in testament it states that jay his only grandson will inherit 100,000 dollars and his ranch in Texas. His parents, Bob and Cherry Geal will receive 500,000 dollars,”
“Buck had 5 million dollars left from his legacy, it states in the will that he must be taken care of until he can take care of himself,”
“What legacy? he was very secretive and didn’t have a job. I mean what kind of legacy was that?” Cherry asked. She looked old and worn and so did Jay’s father. They were dressed like uptight parents with polo shirts and the mother had lots of makeup. They had jay lat in their years so they both look bad.
Jay was dressed like a preppy, he was skinny and he had glasses. On top of that, Jay had short black hair and brown eyes. His mother had blue eyes unlike him. He was tall and had skinny and had great posture. His dad was muscular and bald. His mother was pretty. All three of them looked like they belong together, They all seem to fit in a tiny box.
Mr herb put his glasses down then said, “Buck had stocks and right before he died of cancer he sold all his stock and made now can we proceed?”
“Yes!” Jay’s parent said.
“like I was saying, Buck left cherry and bob 500,000 dollars to do what they want to. In addition to that, anything jay needs the will state it must be taken care of, school, food, and commodities. For example, Homeschooling, chef and electronics or clothing if he needs it. Jay will be well taken care of,”
Jay was crying and his parent was happy about The inheritance. after it was said and done they moved into the ranch. For a very long time, they waited for the money to clear. Jay had to get homeschooled because they were in the middle of nowhere. When it came time to receive the 500,000 dollars, his parents, skipped out-of-town. They took the 500,000 and left to never come back again.
The ranch was overlooked by a woman named Jill MacArthur. Since there was no way of contacting his parents she became like his new mom. Essentially no one knew why he didn’t go after his parents but he never did. There was something he knew in his gut telling him they were gone forever. Now he just says that they died in a car accident because he was so angry at them,. Jill sat up with him one night and held him in her arms. He cried for a good three hours.
Jill looked like she was in her 40s she was very much a spiritual person and dressed accordingly. She knew buck well. She dressed like she was old too but she was pretty in her own sense. She was skinny and had her hair up. They were in the main bedroom. She had a letter in her back pocket. She pulled it out and gently gave it to Jay.
“What’s this?” Jay asked.
Jill patted Jay on the shoulder. “it’s from your grandfather buck, he knew your parents well and he said if anything was to happen I was to give this to you…”
He wiped his tears and looked at the envelope. It was addressed to him. He opened it. It read
“My dearest Grandson,
I’ve loved you since the day you were born. This is why I gave you all of my fortunes Your parents are gone. I’m sorry but they were horrible parent’s. I’m the only whoever loved you. Boy, you remind me of myself strong, passionate and a kind heart. When I looked at your eyes I see me. Jay none of that matter now, son. You are free of them and they would never understand you like I would. you may have the ranch and i tell you now, Boy great things are to come just remember the wind speaks, the night sings, the day crows. These are words when said right and through your heart than great things will come. I wouldn’t worry son, everything is going to be alright. When you look at that coin I gave you and all you need are those words then the pain will disappear.
Lovingly,
Your grandpa Buck.”
Jill hugged him and Jay sat there with the letter. He felt bad so Jill started talking.
“I some good news jay, You will get the all of bucks money that about twenty million dollars.”
“I don’t care about the money, Jill. I just want my grandpa back,” Jay said
“I know dear, I know…”
she looks away in thought, Then she said
“Listen, Your grandpa would want you to move forward, Jay,”
She moved her hand and there was the coin buck gave him.
Jay’s eyes lit up, “how the heck did you do that?
“a magician never reveals her Secrets,” Jill said.
She handed him the coin and said: “Promise me, Jay, you will put this under your pillow and say The wind speaks, the night sings, and the day crows.”
“Why?” Jay asked
“Just trust me jay! Please!”
she hugged him, “just do it please,”
“whatever! I don’t see how it helps!” Jay said.
“It’s not going to hurt you,” Jill said.
She grabbed his hand and look into his eyes. She spoke softly. “Trust me.”
“Then I guess ill do it,” Jay said.
“I know you will, Jay,” Jill said
“well I gotta be off to do some work around here,” she got up and walked away.
“oodles, ” Jill said. She walked out the door.
Jay said in the main bedroom all day and when evening came he was tired of the pain from knowing that his grandpa and his parents had left him. He had tears running down his face and his heart hurt. He pulled out the Azgers coin and looked at it closely and by this time everyone had gone to bed. The took on an appearance of a cheap plastic token. His gut told him to do it so he said these words, “The wind speaks… The night sings… The day crows….” then he put it under his pillow.
As he slept the magic crept up on him. In the dark, the world started changing and from the darkness, something new emerged.
When jay awoke he heard a loud growl under his bed. He slowly looked under his bed. in a sudden shaken of fear stuck him and he jumped back into his bed.
“What the heck?”
He took another look and whatever it was licked his face. he jumped back again.
“A dragon, a firkin baby dragon. I must be dreaming.”
he pinched himself then looked under the bed he saw two dragons this time both babies. he jumped back again and fainted.
After fifteen minutes he opened his eyes to the big size of an Irish wolfhound. There were another one of these scaly creatures that had golden and red scales and it was getting into everything. The blue scaly creature that was on top of jay spoke to him telepathically “Are you my da-da?”
This blue and white dragon had the tiny horn and tiny wings. there was no way she could fly. She was like a puppy and she spoke telepathically as she licked saying “I love you!” “I love you!” over and over again.
Jay yelled “HEEEEEEEELLLLLPPPP!!!!”
There was a knock at the door it was 12 P.M, The door opened and came in Jill with a witch hat and a broom.
“What’s with all the screaming?”
She looked at Jay and laughed with a piggy laugh. “She likes you, Jay,”
“Jill?” he asked.
she couldn’t breathe but she eventually came up with the words “Yeah… its me Jill…(*snort*) “
“HEEELPPP JILL this one trying to eat me!”
She laughed harder. “no no no, Shes your new pet dragon and so is that red one over there.”
“WHAT??!”
Jill stopped and took a deep breath. She got serious and she said “come this way Jay, I have a surprise for you! come! come! ignore that two rascals and follow me.”
She looked like a Witch now but she was very pretty she had no feature of a stereotype witch. She had the black dress and white pale skin and her hat were red and black and her shoes were black. The whole get-up made her look sophisticated and chic; Nevertheless, she looked like a witch-a good witch.
They walked down the hall and jay noticed the walls started changing into brick and stone. the lights started changing into torches and tapestries appeared out of nowhere. It was all one level, but regardless the whole place turns into a stone fort. It was perfect. Jay was in awe of it all. They walked into a kitchen which had changed the walls and stove and table into
an old wood fire stove, an old wooden table, and counters. It was a blast from the past. A herd of rats came into the house and then they starting morphing into gnomes that were larger than normal gnomes and a lot more friendlier. when they all changed, Jill said that they are called “Gnumes”.
One walked right up to Jay and said: “Jay I’m Lonny Suddy and I’m happy to see you sir!” He put his hand out and shook jays hand. they all lined up and greeted Jay.
The Gnumes were the size of a middle school child or as big as jay just little inches smaller. They had hair on them like a gnome. they had a hat on them like a gnome. They just had a flatter noise and they had smaller ears with three points of them. Their eye color was exotic and original. They had hair under their hat and were very polite.
After all the commotion came to a spike Jill told them to get to work. The Gnumes love playing and was very active. They went back to work. Jill lead him outside into the courtyard. The Whole ranch had turned into one leveled house. There was a stable with horses, There was many, and many, Gnumes running around taking care of everything.
“Oh and jay, they are clean and tidy too, those Gnumes,” Jill said.
“this is a lot to take in Jill…”
“it’s not only that there’s a surprise,”
“Boooyyyyyyy…”
His heart stopped and he almost stopped breathing. “Buck?!” he thought.
He turned around and there was his grandpa. He wept tears of joy and buck gave him a big hug.
